I had hoped that this week would have seen an increase in income. However, I ended up with the same 25k profit as I made last week.
This is especially disappointing when I have levelled my first alt to 70 and taken another 2 to 65. I’d hoped that leveling quests alone would have seen a huge boost in income.
As part of the levelling, I did a little experimenting into world quests and whether they would be a good slow income. I probably need to wait until next week when I’m back at work to see if I could take 10 characters a day through the dragonflight races for 2k each, but I did get to experiment with other types of content.
My findings are that Photography is fast and maybe worth doing. Climbing isn’t and should be avoided.
I think I might need to put some effort into gathering at a higher quality and see if I can make good gold out of that. Although I’ll admit that my current thinking is that I should use the time until 10.1 to level all toons and professions. That alone would be a huge amount of work, but at least I would be ready for 10.2 and beyond, when others might have got bored with profession content.
Hence the push to level this week. Xmas caused some disruption (especially when it came to Mythic+ – but it was a crap set of affixes and so I’m not too sad). I did enough to get a selection of items to choose from in the Great Vault this morning.
In terms of ATT, progress has been a lot slower this week. As I said, I’ve done less Mythic+ this week, and whilst I did raid on Monday, we spent a lot of it playing around with Raszageth mechanics. Like my gold, my progress was like last week, just a measly 0.1% progress.
As I suspected, now my main is levelled and suitably geared for progress, there’s less I NEED to do on them. Had I been burned out, I would have now dropped playing to a few times a week along with maybe one night of Mythic+. But as it stands, I’m still super-enjoying this expansion and I’m using my week off to get some game time in. However, I’ve been trying to focus on alts.
My current plan is to use intro quests and some of the WQs to get them to 61-62 and then use Azure Span to take them to 65. By then I’ve burned through their rested XP so I move onto another while they rest up. I usually end up in Iskaara by the time I hit it, and it seems a convenient place to take a break.
So my plan for the next week is see how many more characters I can get there. I have no idea what I will do once they are 65. I presume I will continue with Azure Span, but I know my current route is far from optimal and I doubt I’d be 70 by the end of the zone.
I’ve seen some reports of levelling in a couple of hours. That’s certainly not me, who is taking a good number of hours just to get to the half way mark. I guess it doensn’t really matter. I’ll just keep doing this until such time as better routes appear online.
With 10.1 probably due around April (working on the notes from Blizzard that they plan to release 6 patches in 20223 equally spaced) that doesn’t give me a whole lot of time to get all these toons up. I had thought I could ambitiously try doing 1 a week, until I realised that would then take me well into the summer.
So I need to pick up the pace. Time to line up a few Youtube playlists and just grind. Future me will thank present me.
